VORONEZH ANIMATION STUDIO HAS BEGUN PRODUCTION ON SEQUEL OF ANIMATED FILM "THE KITTEN FROM LIZYUKOV STREET 2"
The studio will release a 3D short film about the adventures of Voronezh cat Vaska and his puppy friend Bulka, who take a real trip through time in the new film. The new animated film will be released under the title “The Adventures on Admiral Square”. Production on the sequel of the animated film is supported by Governor Alexander Gusev and the government of the Voronezh region.
In the new story, the witch-crow sends the heroes back to the time when Emperor Peter the Great only began to build Russia's first regular navy on the Voronezh River. Vaska and Bulka not only fulfil their dream to ride on a sailing ship, but also meet Peter the Great in person and learn everything about the sailing fleet first-hand. The animated film will be released in 2022, by the 350th anniversary of the birth of Peter the Great.
Vladimir Nikolaev, the studio's General Producer: “Working on such an image project for the region means both a great honour and a certain challenge for us as creators, because it is not about feature length movie, a more familiar animation format for us, but about creating a festival short film. This time the script of the cartoon was written by the scriptwriters of our studio, and the plot is transferred to the past, to such a historically significant period for the country as the creation of the first regular fleet. The previous part of the cartoon contained many recognisable places of Voronezh, such as Admiralty Square and the ship ‘Goto Predestination’, but this time we will show the audience Voronezh of the past. We really want to tell this story in an entertaining, informative and humorous way, so that young viewers from an early age would know the history and be proud of their country. The animated film will be released by the anniversary of Emperor Peter the Great, as well as other events planned for this date, which is definitely a landmark."
