“The Steel Family” Season 2 premieres on Kinopoisk on October 1

On October 1, 2026, the second season of the The Steel Family franchise will launch on the online cinema platform Kinopoisk. New episodes will be released every Thursday. Viewers can look forward to a total of 10 episodes, each approximately 20 minutes long. The project is produced by Voronezh Animation Studio with the support of the Internet Development Institute (ANO “IRI”).

Synopsis:

After the Siberian mission, the kids’ parents are recruited into a secret department studying alien technologies. It turns out that the aliens have numerous agents on Earth, and a powerful Western corporation called “Mega,” led by billionaire Mega Zane, already possesses a large amount of alien technology. While the special services fight for the future of our planet, the only ones who can truly save Earth are the children who have made contact with an unknown energy that the aliens desperately need.

General Producer of the studio Vladimir Nikolaev comments:

“The total reach exceeded 35,000,000 views across online platforms, which clearly shows that Russian teenagers need their own superhero world — with recognizable heroes, modern language, and rooted in our values. The Steel Family is teenage cinema that speaks to its audience in a language they understand, and the action takes place in locations familiar to teens — Moscow and other places in modern Russia. A dynamic plot, action, humor, science fiction, and teenage heroes make the series close to its target audience, while the confrontation with unusual and charismatic villains adds extra appeal to the story. In the second season, viewers will meet both familiar adversaries and new dangerous characters — from Corfus and the Reptiloid to the inimitable Rat Catcher and Mega Zane. In Season 2 we deepen this story, add new threats and characters, but keep the most important things: family, responsibility, and the readiness to protect what truly matters.”

The first season, released in 2023, became one of the most notable Russian animated projects for a teenage audience. The series received a rating of 8.6 on Kinopoisk and 9.0 on Wink, was included in the list of films recommended by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation for family viewing, and is shown as part of the “Talks About Important Things” lessons. In 2024 it was recognized as the Best Animated Project at the National Internet Content Award by IRI.

The superhero franchise doesn’t end here: in 2027, with the support of the Cinema Foundation, a theatrical release of the feature film The Steel Family: Signal from Space is planned.
