New animated film DR. DOLITTLE

Animation Studio VORONEZH will present audiences with a new animated version of the story about the kind doctor. The animated film DR. DOLITTLE will hit the big screens on May 13, 2027. The project is being produced with the support of the Cinema Foundation, Mars Media, and the STV film company. The distributor is the Volga film company.

In the very heart of Africa, on the banks of the Limpopo River, a mysterious epidemic breaks out, threatening the entire animal world. The only one who can challenge this unknown disease is Dr. Dolittle. Without wasting a moment, he sets off on his journey together with his loyal dog Avva and new friends. They will face wild jungles, dangerous crossings, and chases. They will discover that behind the epidemic lies the cunning pirate Barmaley, who is using others’ misfortune for his own selfish purposes and kidnapping sick little animals. Now Dr. Dolittle faces an even greater challenge: not only to cure the animals, but also to confront the most formidable bandit of Africa.

For us, Aibolit is not just a kind doctor with a thermometer, but a symbol of selfless courage, someone who goes toward his goal despite fears and distances. We carefully preserve the DNA of Chukovsky — his rhythm, his unbridled imagination — but we have placed the characters in a completely new visual world that will surprise both teenagers and adults. This is a film about friendship that is stronger than any obstacles. About the fact that courage can take different forms, and that kindness is by no means a weakness. Our main task is to prove that classic Russian animation can be thrilling, modern, and spectacular, while still retaining the very sincerity for which we love the old films. We are putting all our love for the original source into this project so that the audience leaves the cinema not with a sense of fulfilled duty, but with a smile and a desire to reread Chukovsky again.”
