Imagine a multimedia living museum where exhibits tell their own stories, and animated characters guide you through key events of the past — vividly, interactively, and engaging for all ages!
Now, this is not just an idea — it's reality!
We continue the animated project "Incredible Adventures in the Museum of History," created with the participation of the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia, Voronezh Animation Studio and Creative Production Studio, and with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.
In the new episode — "At the Top of the World. Antarctica" — Lena, Alexey, and Margo will set out to explore the mysterious sixth continent.
Who was the first to see Antarctica? When did the first Soviet ship arrive there? And why is the Pole of Cold located here?
In January 1820, the Russian expedition of Lazarev and Bellingshausen discovered Antarctica. Decades later, in 1956, the first Soviet ship reached its shores. The same year, the first scientific station and the Mirny observatory began operations, with 86 participants staying for the winter.
In April 1956, the first tractor-sledge journey started: 11 researchers traveled 77 km and established the Pionerskaya station — the first continental observatory in Antarctica.
Then, during the second Soviet expedition led by Alexey Fedorovich Treshnikov, the Vostok station was founded in the region of the geomagnetic pole — where the lowest temperature on Earth was recorded: -89°C!
Russian scientists continue their research — it is here that they reached a subglacial lake hidden beneath kilometers of Antarctic ice.
