Applications Open for the I Voronezh International Animation Festival
Applications are now being accepted for the I Voronezh International Animation Festival, which will take place in Voronezh from May 19 to 21, 2023. The festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Voronezh Region.
Submissions can be made until March 31, 2023, via the official festival website: www.animfestvrn.ru
Films accepted into the competition program of the festival:
- Feature animated films (from 60 to 160 minutes);
- Short animated films (from 1 to 30 minutes);
- Animated series (from 1 to 30 minutes).
The festival’s non-competitive program accepts Russian and international feature films, short films, and animated series. The jury will include both Russian and international professionals, alongside representatives from the animation industry.
The First Voronezh International Animation Festival will showcase modern professional domestic and international animated films for children, teenagers and adult audiences. The festival program will feature films about friendship, family values, moral values and education, growing up, culture, nature and learning.
A special feature of the festival will be its workshop format, which will include not only screenings and discussions of animated films, but also master classes, round tables and creative meetings for a wide audience with leading specialists from Voronezh Animation Studio (formerly Wizart Animation) and from internationally recognized professionals in the animation industry. The practicum program will highlight animation as one of the fastest-growing art forms and creative industries.
Festival founder: LLC ‘Voronezh Animation Studio’. The festival director is Vladimir Nikolaev, General Producer of the studio. The program director is Alena Sycheva, film historian and animation film producer.
